My Holistic Health

Hello Yogi's and Health Fans! Today I talk about my philosophy of health. I hope you enjoy it as much as the last blog article I wrote on the "Plant Paradox." I got several responses from it, so glad you are interested in optimum health!

In my family we were told early on by our mother, “We don’t believe in the germ theory,” she would say. So when you had a cold it was because the Chinese said it was about releasing grief and sadness. If you got the flu you were spiraling up in your consciousness and releasing outmoded behaviors. This was perfectly normal thinking in our household. As a practicing healer some forty plus years later I’ll say this idea still stands up. Health is dimensional. The powerful mind-body connection through which emotional, mental, social, spiritual, behavioral, and environmental aspects directly affect our health is widely accepted today. When we forget or ignore this mind-body connection our health can become anything from annoying to fatal. I’ve read more than once that, “75-90 percent of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress related problems” (8, Stress). That’s a big percentage of a lot of stressors affecting our lives. It might seem rudimentary to say that stress is the body’s way of responding to any experiences, negative or positive, but we’ve accustomed ourselves to high stress levels as normal. A cumulative buildup of adrenaline, cortisol, and noradrenaline (fight or flight stress hormones), that cannot be processed properly can lead to a lengthy list of health problems like, headache, IBS, and high blood pressure. It lowers immunity making us susceptible to infection, chronic fatigue, depression, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and allergies. Mentioned above are many physical problems that can manifest as a result of accumulated stress. Think about what causes stress in your life? A brief list, come up with your own, there are plenty: death, birth, divorce, marriage-the beginning, middle, or end, loss of a job, money, moving, road rage, a toxic work environment, chronic illness or injury. For teens peer pressure and academic stress is the most common with feeling strain to perform better. In young children sources of stress can be nightmares, bedwetting, and stomach aches. Along with all the stressors come the emotions fueling depression, addictions, anger, guilt, shame, grief, and low self-esteem. In the brain there is a small almond shaped gland called the amygdala, you’ve probably heard of it. It’s the emotional processing center and also where emotional memory is processed. It works like radar constantly surveying the territory for threats and emergency events. The amygdala’s scrupulous emotional memory bank is always on the lookout for anything distressing, based on any previous traumatic experiences you’ve had that ignited the fight or flight response, thus triggering an emotional feeling in the body. So if you’ve never stopped to think that the sources of your stress or ill physical signs are a result of your emotions you might look again. The thoughts you think and the belief sets you hold also have a direct impact on your health and the mind-body connection. Whether we are aware of it or not we have a thought attached to every stressor affecting us. Many thoughts are passed down ancestrally and other thoughts result from how we as individuals experience and perceive our reality. The mind affects the body 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most of the time we just don’t notice. Thoughts also cause the fight or flight response, and conversely the release of relaxation and feel good hormones too. However, it’s typically the negative that bogs us down. Each thought accompanies an emotional tone. Try to think about a loved one and not experience your body having a feeling. Think of a negative thought, how does it make you feel? Do an experiment on yourself, locate you most demeaning thought you have about yourself and then find out where you feel it in the body and then do the reverse with a positive. If we don’t do the psychological work or deep self-inquiry and we get caught up in a belief set that stress is normal the physical body will eventually catch up and starting crashing with symptoms, illnesses, and diseases. As a bodyworker and spiritual teacher I have had the honor and privilege of experiencing the transformation of dis-ease to radiant health with so many individuals over the years. A recent client of mine was absolutely convinced that the source of her lower back pain was solely in the physical dimension and that she would have to have surgery in order to fix the problem, as recommended by several doctors she consulted. In her search to avoid surgery she sought out physical therapy and even massage, both only offering temporary relief. After a few sessions of connecting the mind with the body through healing massage, guided processes, and NuVision Body Scan, her back pain was completely eliminated! She was amazed by the healing, because it was the connection she made between the childhood traumas she experienced with her mother that was the underlying source of her back pain. This client continues to be amazed that the back pain she had for so long and was so convinced would not go away has vanished. If you or someone you know is frustrated or struggles with any aspect of health and wellbeing, be it mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, etc. With NuVisionUSA, sophisticated software that I’ve been working with for over 4 years, I can help get to the underlying causes of their health and wellness concerns. It uses advanced technology based on the principles of quantum physics – basically, the theory that we live in a connected matrix and everything is energy. You may have heard similar techniques described as vibrational medicine, energy medicine, quantum healing, or holographic healing. NuVision scans your system and gives us information about the most relevant issues for you at the moment, be they physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. Work can then be done on clearing the blockages to enhance your health and well-being. The name you go by, your complete birthdate and birthplace is entered into the system and then all aspects in your energy field are shown. I can analyze the scan in a variety of ways to help with healing for example nutrition, trauma, environmental toxins, and congestion to name a few. It is also capable of energetically sending a reconnect to you, like a wireless phone, in the form of color therapy, affirmations, healing number sequences, homeopathy, plant essences, and more. Contact me if you’re interested and want more information, telephone and in-person appointments available. I am happy to serve.
